Al-Reem city

In Al Reem City, Abu Dhabi, futuristic cityscapes and desert landscapes collide. This place seems straight out of a desert sci-fi movie, since it is situated on a lovely sandy island between lush mangroves and the waves of the Arabian Gulf, with a glittering skyline made up of glass skyscrapers.

The island was formerly a flat stretch of sand, but it now houses an astounding assortment of high-end housing projects, schools, office complexes, and a planned community, which is still under development, wide swaths of unbuilt sand, and construction cranes positioned around half-finished buildings. It's a common occurrence.

The building of Al Reem City began in 2006 at a cost of 37 billion dollars and a surface area of 6.5 million square metres. It was originally scheduled to be completed in 2022, however due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, the project was postponed. There is no estimated completion date, but it will surely be a city. Al Reem is one of the region's most important and picturesque cities.
